Natural Trumpet
Our renaissance trumpet is based on an early German style instrument
in the Germanisches National Museum Nuremberg and was developed with the
assistance a leading expert in historic brass. The trumpet is not assembled
with a modern solder but with beeswax a traditional technique which produces
a rigid structure yet one that can be easily adjusted or repaired should the
need arise. Ornamental angel heads adorn the bell but decoration generally
has been kept to a minimum. The trumpet plays at modern pitch D, but crooks
are available to lower the pitch by a semitone and a whole tone and of
course a tone and a half when used together. A vent hole can be provided for
use with each pitch.
Semitone crook. Specifically designed for use with our Renaissance
trumpet the semitone crook lowers the pitch from 440 to 415. It is formed as
a tightly curved extension tube, one end is tapered to fit the mouthpiece
socket and the other end to fit the mouthpiece.
Whole tone crook. Specifically designed for use with our
Renaissance trumpet the whole tone crook lowers the pitch from 440 to 394.
It is formed as a circular extension tube, one end is tapered to fit the
mouthpiece socket and the other end to fit the mouthpiece.
Each instrument is entirely hand built by 'in-house'
experienced craftsmen to special order in our own workshops in Toledo (Spain) to the highest standard of craftsmanship.
They come with 12 months warranty and 12 months free access to our 'helpline' for
advice on setting up, playing and maintenance. |
